This was a long time coming, like literally I wanted to do this post last summer. But then I got a bit distracted and lazy and ended up with nothing. Also, I broke my Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation and then I was being over-dramatic and told myself what’s the use now, I lost my favourite foundation in the whole world.
Anyway, moving on now. I am listing below five high-end foundations which is worth your money. I swear by these and I know this will never go wrong and you won’t regret buying it.
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Liquid Foundation
This was my first ever high-end foundation purchase. I knew what I wanted so I walked inside the Mac store, which is frankly very intimidating but the SA helped me choose my shade. I got it in the shade NC 44.5 but I think I can use a NC 44 right now. This is a full-coverage foundation with a matt finish, but I like to set it with powder especially if I am in a tropical climate. It stays on me pretty smooth for a really long time, I would say 6-7 hours but after that it becomes a bit cakey and oily.
You do get an array of shades, so don’t worry about it but yes! it smells a bit like paint. It goes away after a while but it’s definitely there. I am the kind of person who can’t deal with strong fragrances but it’s kinda okay for me (because I paid so much money for this bottle). Also, it doesn’t come with a pump, which is really annoying. You tend to use more when you try to pour it from the bottle but yeah with a couple of pounds more you can get a pump for yourself. I didn’t but completely your choice.

Dior Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation
First things first, try to get this on sale if you can because this is expensive. But it is abso-freakinglutely good and so worth your money. If you want a super long-stay foundation, go for this, it will make you look flawless from morning till night. This stuff doesn’t budge, and sets very quickly. So, yes you have to work fast with this one but once this sets you are fine for the whole day. It has a very nice coverage, and feels comfortable on skin.
The colour selection I would say is okay-ish, you might be able to find your shade. So, I would recommend you going to the store and then see if you can find a shade for yourself.
If you like mixing foundation then the Lancôme Teint Idole + Dior forever is a bomb combination to work with.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
I picked this up from the Heathrow duty free in the shade Tahoe and it was such a bargain. I was super tanned when I got it and it matched me perfectly, hence, I can’t use it right now. But let me spill it, this is magic. This looks so nice on my skin, it has a buildable coverage with dewy finish to it. It doesn’t look patchy, streaky, or cakey on me. It is one of those foundations that makes you look cute throughout the day. If you are someone like me, who is not into full-coverage foundation but want something on your face to look fresh and stuff, pick this one up.
Yes again, it doesn’t come with a pump. So there’s that’s. I picked up my pump from duty free too because cheap.

Tarte Clay Stick Foundation
This month I tried out a bunch of products from Tarte because I did a campaign with QVC beauty. I have always heard great things about this brand and wanted to pick something up. But the shipping was a bit crazy so I didn’t but hey here I am. Lucky me!
This is my first stick foundation and I didn’t know what to expect. This one is full-coverage but I just do few stripes on my face and it gives me a beautiful finish. It weighs very light. But it does oxidise a bit on me. I am in the shade Tan Sand, so when I apply it, it looks a tad lighter but after like 15 minutes it’s exactly as my skin tone. So not complaining at all, but something you would like to keep in mind.
It does tend to get oily at the end of the day. So, I would ask those who have oily skin to try and stay away from this foundation. But overall I am very impressed and happy with my new addition. Also, try to use it with a brush, it helps spreading out the product better.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I know I know, you have already heard about this foundation a lot. But that’s because it’s so good and gives you a healthy glow. It is a medium to full-coverage foundation that gives you a flawless looking natural skin. It will not cling to your dry patches if you have any and stays on for a really really long time. Also, it comes with a PUMP the best thing ever!
I have the shade Caramel, which is not really my shade. When I picked it up, this had just launched and the SA convinced me that it was my shade 🙄. However, they have expanded the shade range, which is such a good news. I’m sure you will be able to find a shade for yourself, if you decide to pick this one up.

None of the foundations broke me out, which is amazing. But if you ever decide to buy any foundation no matter how expensive / affordable it is, please go and get a sample for yourself first, it will save your money, time and your skin.
Everyone’s skin is different. So it might work differently on your skin than it worked on mine. For the reference, I have combination skin.
