I was absoluetly thrilled to tick this off my bucket list. 25 acres of the Mayfield Lavender field was mesmerisingly beautiful and smelt of lavender well,Obviously! This is like one of those places where you just feel at peace. Loads of bumble bees hover over the dainty stems of the farm.
The purple field goes on and on endlessly, which would make you run your fingers through them. It is the perfect place for a quick getaway ,and in sunshine it feels like magic. The farm has its own café that offers Lavender-flavoured cakes, brownies, tea and ice-cream.
They charge £2 as entry fee which is fair enough, considering you get such a view for yourself. This is located at Banstead (Woodmansterne), Surrey. The best time to visit is from mid-June till 16th September, opening times is 9am – 6pm
If you are travelling from Central London it will take you around 1 hour and 30 mins. Firstly, get the Jubilee line tube to London Bridge. Secondly, take The Southern Train towards Tattenham Corner and get down at Woodmansterne. Finally, take the 166 bus from the Woodmansterne Station (Stop B) towards Epsom, get down at Oaks Park Bus Station.
